Boycott Ticketmaster

With summer Festivals and concerts quickly approaching, now would be a good time to stand up for yourself and stop taking it in the rear from this evil company. Stop PAYING 5$ to print your tickets out using your own ink and paper.

I don't really have any answers (maybe Eddie Vedder does) but I do know one thing you can do to save some money, and stickit to the man! If you plan on attending the My Morning Jacket show this August, do yourself a favor and head down to Slugger Field and buy your tickets from their box office. You can pick them up for the face value of 33.50 and save around 8$ per ticket (they actully print them for free too!).

Since I brought him up, here is some Eddie for you...

Whigs play the first Waterfront Wednesday of 2008

A couple months ago we made a last minute trip to Lexington to catch the Whigs open for our local favorites Wax Fang; it was well worth the trip. The Whigs have a pure rock power that's hard to deny and are headlining this year's first Waterfront Wednesday concert series sponsored by WFPK.
Playing along with the Whigs are Wild Sweet Orange from Birmingham, Alabama and Griffin House from Nashville, Tennessee. As usual, this a free concert series that occurs all summer long on the last Wednesday of the month (aside from this first one... due to Derby conflicts.)

Schedule is as follows:
The Whigs 9pm Right Hand On My Heart
Wild Sweet Orange 7:30pm 10 Dead Dogs
Griffin House 6:00pm Dance With Me

Mark Olson in Louisville this Monday

When I was in High School I picked up a music sampler cd from Target and it had a track from the Jayhawks called 'Blue' on it. That track really turned me on to the Jayhawks and picked up the "Tomorrow the Green Grass" album. It was a great album but I didn't really follow the band after that.
Fast forward to 2007 and I hear that the band had called it quits but Mark Olson is coming to Louisville to play a small gig at the 930 listening room. I was fortunate enough to get in the room and listen to one of the best shows I saw in 2007. Mark is visiting our fair city again this coming monday (April 21st) and this time he's playing St. Francis of the Assisi on Bardstown rd at 7:30pm. If you missed him last fall, get out to have a great Monday of music and if you saw him, I'm sure I'll see you there again!
