The 1st Record Store day of 2015 is Saturday April 18th. the RSD people have fallen under fire lately for leaving behind indie labels and smaller bands for the big boys..
Some Record Stores are taking matters into their own hands by releasing small batch releases and sponsoring in-stores with local and unsigned bands.
To that end, Modern Cult Records on Frankfort ave is having a cookout on Record Store Day and a free show with The Wrists, Wolf Mother, Korea 3, and New Bravado. 7pm.

4/19 The Jon Spencer Blues Explosion!
The 3 guys who almost single-handedly kept the Maximum Rock N Roll torch burning through the Grunge days, the Jon Spencer blues Explosion, will be playing Sunday April 19th at Zanzabar and I for one couldn't be more excited. Long are the days of Spencer playing 1000+ auditoriums but I assume a small room will only exacerbate Spencer's legendary "explosive" sound. 15$

Blues Explosion,

and one of my fav's is the Stern 1999 PLAYBOY table (no joke), besides the Peak-A-Boo pin-ups, it is actually a very fun game. My love for pinballz began on this table, spending hours at The Back Door, trying to complete the missions on the table to see more of the bunny pin-ups (the better your score, the more you get to see).
