New Protest Album by Louisville Hip Hop Artist MC Hijack Released

Today, the 5th of November, The Electric Church Of The Tambourine in an ongoing series with the Louisville is for Lovers label released an album called the Truth Church EP, by longtime Louisville hip hop recording artist MC Hijack (as a part of the electronic music duo Team Totoro) in support of those who fight daily against injustice and inequality. This in an ongoing series of protest and activist music. All releases in this series are FREE of charge.

This anti-capitalist anthem laden album was created by MC Hijack using the break beat turntablism technique which was the  technique of music making that was the catalyst for the early Bronx incubator of American Hip Hop. Funk, Soul, and Disco were the primary records used in break beating; as what was primarily used on this album.

Other releases in this series include:
The Gallery Singers 'Power to the Poor'
Team Totoro 'Democrasexxy: Demand an End To Economic Slavery'

The Gallery Singers Release Protest Album On Presidential Inauguration Day For FREE

At 12 AM this morning the record label Louisville Is For Lovers released the newest album by The Gallery Singers At The Electric Church Of The Tambourine for free. The 6 track EP, called POWER TO THE POOR, is the long awaited follow up to the band's 2013 'We Won't Make It' EP (also free).

The album being released on Presidential Inauguration Day is no coincidence, as the album is labeled as a 'Class War Protest Album' against the greed of the ruling class. The album credits also state "This is a call to action. Fascist oppression and economic slavery of 50 million Americans can no longer be tolerated."
The Gallery Singers are also strong supporters of The Electric Church Of The Tambourine, the activist wing of Louisville Is For Lovers, that works with socially conscious bands and fans to create communities for social change. On November 8th, 2016 (Presidential Election Day) Louisville Is For Lovers and The Electric Church Of The Tambourine released a free protest EP by the Hip Hop group Team Totoro called 'Democrasexxy'.

The Gallery Singers 'POWER TO THE POOR' EP can be played and downloaded right now for FREE here:
