Saturday four of Cincinnati's best folk/bluegrass/Americana acts join up to create a great bill. The show is a CD release party for Magnolia Mountain. The Tillers, The Hiders, and The Strange High Drifters will be there in support and to tell you the truth I like these acts just as much if not more than the headliners. The Hiders especially excite me. Headed by former Ass Pony's frontman Bill Alletzhauser, they are certainly a band to keep an eye on. This show represents a coming out party for good music from our neighbors to the North. Show starts at 8:30 and tickets are $8 in advance or $10 at the door.
Sunday night the Southgate House welcomes back Blitzen Trapper, who toes the line between prog-rock and Dylan-esque folk. I'm kind of late to the party on these guys but look forward to seeing them in this great venue, maybe I'll see you there! Show starts at 9:00 and tickets are $12 in advance or $15 at the door.
