Our Most Popular Posts of the Decade: 2010-2019

It's hard to imagine that 37FLOOD got its start 13 Years ago, on March 7th (37 born on 3/7) 2007,  all these years later we have the distinction of being Louisville's longest running Music & Entertainment blog, with over half a million individual readers since our first post!

Here are some of our most popular posts since 2010:

J Perry's Best of The Decade List: We often ask musicians to share their favorite music and entertainment lists. J Perry of the Deloreans gave us his favorites list from 2000-2010, which is our Most read 'Favorites' list of all time!

The most read editorial of the last decade was John King's expose of the city government covering up bad publicity of Gill Holland's gentrification attempts of Portland while running for city councilmen (which he lost). The article is called How To Deal With Louisville's Refugees of Economicide.  It remains the most read editorial in 37FLOOD history!

Our most read album review of the last decade was of Scott H. Biram's Bad Testament LP (and we adored it) that was released in February of 2017. Our 2nd most popular album review was of Jack White's Boarding House Reach (which we were less favorable).

Our most read interview of the decade was from April 2017 with Craig Bell, founding member of influential classic punk bands Rocket From The Tombs, X_____X, and Mirrors.

Our most read event review of the last decade was a review of Forecastle 2018 called It's the End Of the World, about the dangerous atmosphere in Party Cove, and how our reporter and photographer were threatened by event goers. Despite having the record for the longest online news source to cover the annual event, we have not been invited back by Forecastle management.

Our second most read  event review was of Forecastle 2010 written by 37FLOOD writer Dylan Greenwood. Dylan's review also holds the distinction of having the most viewed photo on 37FLOOD:
This photo of Grace Potter playing Forecastle 2010 is the most viewed photo on 37FLOOD, which brings us to the most used Google search term (besides 37FLOOD) sending traffic to our site: Grace Potter legs.

Our 1,000th Post! (37FLOOD's 10th Anniversary!)

10 Years ago on March 7th (37 born on 3/7) 2007 marked the very first post on 37FLOOD! 10 years later we have the distinction of being Louisville's longest running Music & Entertainment blog, with over 300,000 individual visitors over the last decade and this post marks our 1,000th post!

Dreamed up by founder Kory Johnson in early 2007 as a way to keep up with the local community of My Morning Jacket fans and supporters of local music, we have now published 1,000 articles, interviews, reviews, and editorials pertaining to Louisville and the surrounding region of Cincinnati, Lexington, and Nashville.

The very first post went up March 7th about My Morning Jacket's show in Athen's Georgia the night before. See it Here.

In the beginning 37FLOOD consisted of capturing and archiving Louisville bands. Posts generally had photo galleries, set lists, and downloadable live recordings of the shows including My Morning Jacket (and a live MMJ Christmas album), Wax Fang, The Slow Break, and even had 37FLOOD podcasts (we have just revamped 37FLOOD podcasts here). Many of the recordings are still downloadable, so start at the beginning and get them now, don't wait another 10 years..

Here are some of our stats over the last decade:

Most read article of all time:

J Perry's Best of The Decade List: We often ask musicians and local rabble rousers (including Scott Condra of LFPL's Louisville Mix, 37FLOOD founder Kory Johnson, contributing writers, and others) to share their favorite music and entertainment lists. Most read Editorial:

The most read editorial of the last decade, and most popular article of last year was John King's expose of the city government covering up bad publicity of Gill Holland's gentrification attempts of Portland and the subsequent lack of media coverage. 10/3 New Louisville Music Archive unveiled by Louisville Free Public Library

LFPL.org/Music
The Louisville Free Public Library (LFPL) has started a new program entitled Louisville Mix,  a free streaming service unveiled today (October 3rd) on their Website  that will archive and stream music by Louisville bands. To start there are over 50 full releases by Louisville bands including Twin Limb, Andrew Rinehart, Team Totoro, Cheyenne Mize, 23 String Band, Mudcat Blues Band, and others.
LFPL has also teamed up with Louisville Is For Lovers and  the entire LISFORL collection will be available to stream through Louisville Mix. All of the Louisville Is For Lovers Valentine's releases will be available to start, and the entire 15 year catalogue will be available by January 20th, when the Library will release the full archive to date (with music added continuously after).

The Louisville Free Public Library has also paired up with 37FLOOD to help recruit local bands for the Louisville Mix Project. In January for 37FLOOD's 10th Anniversary (yep! we've been doing this for almost a decade!) We will be co-hosting a live Louisville Mix Showcase at the LFPL main branch with Louisville bands playing an 'After Dark' event. And in February Louisville Is For Lovers in partnership with Louisville Free Public Library will unveil the 2017 Valentine's release.
To commemorate the partnership with LFPL, Louisville Is For Lovers has released  Vol. 1 & 2  of it's Valentine's series digitally here.
