This coming Saturday, Peak Summit will once again shine upon our fair city. This year the groove and dance festival will be held in the heart of St. Matthews on 10 stages spread across 6 bars. 25 bands for $10... that's a hell of a deal!
Locals Jacob Weaver (Guitar/Vocals) Evan Blum (Bass) Rob Monsma (Drums) form the band Murals and have been the subject of our blog a few times in the past. Their sound is beyond their years as these college kids seem to have been practicing in their basements since infancy. When we first saw them around a year ago, the polish was already there and they only needed a larger audience; sometimes this city tends to cover it's ears to new things.
Arnett Hollow is a fictional place that has just survived a major flood. To tell the story of this town, the band (Chris Rodahaffer- Guitar, Vocals Glenn Miller- Banjo, Vocals Rob Collier- Upright Bass Rob Edwards- Drums, Percussion) have created an extremely unique psychedelic-bluegrass sound. They are having a CD release party on Friday the 27th of April at the Bluegrass Brewing Company 4th street in Theatre Square.
