8/3: Sound Visual(s) opening reception at Craft(s) Gallery

Sound Visual(s) as a visual art show of 4 Louisville artists who work both in the musical and visual arts: Matt Anthony (WFPK & Matt Anthony's Record Shop), Jordan Humbert (The Winger Brothers), John King (Louisville Is For Lovers Series), and Michael Tackett (DJ at The Pearl) through August at Craft(s) Gallery (572 S. Fourth Street).

Opening Reception with the artists; Friday August 3rd from 6-9pm with refreshments and DJ sets by the artists.

7/6: John King's Post Consumer Glass Art Show at CRAFT(s) Gallery

This friday, July 6th, from 6-9pm at Craft(s) Gallery and Mercantile (572 S. 4th st) will be the opening reception for glass artist John King's first showing of new work in 5 years. This collection, the Eyesight Series, explores the artist's thoughts on an inflammatory disease that is slowly claiming his eyesight, all created with post-consumer glass materials. Chipped and cracked glass repurposed into totems and pseudo-religious statues that seems to be begging a Vision God have mercy.

SAW art show at CRAFT(s) Gallery

"SAW-Contemporary Artists Explore The Tool As Canvas" is a group art show of work made from saw blades and may be exactly what you may need this holiday season. Artists include Lisa Simon, Jim Doiron, Brad White, John King, Scott Scarboro, and more.

The opening is from 6-10 this Friday at CRAFT{s} at 572 South 4th street with a special performance of Brigid Kaelin  playing a singing saw.
