RIP Mark Linkous
On March 6th at 1:20pm in Knoxville TN, Mark Linkous, better known in the music world as Sparklehorse, lost his life. witnesses said after a period of fighting depression and drinking heavily he was visiting friends when he walked into an alley and shot himself in the heart with a riffle. his family quickly backed up the suicide theory by releasing this statement "It is with great sadness that we share the news that our dear friend and family member, Mark Linkous, took his own life today. We are thankful for his time with us and will hold him forever in our hearts. May his journey be peaceful, happy and free. There's a heaven and there's a star for you."
Personally, the work of Mark Linkous has been an inspiration, with his work as Sparklehorse (it's a wonderful life being one of my favorite albums of all time), and his collaborations with masters such as Tom Waits and Danger Mouse. last year he released an album of collaborations with Danger Mouse and David Lynch called Dark Night Of The Soul.
read our review of Dark Night Of The Soul here. download DNOTS here (it's okay, Danger Mouse and Sparklehorse released this album free to the public just because they love us.. it's a brilliant album and costs you nothing so go on already, you won't regret it).
-We Will miss Mr. Linkous dearly.
