Follow the Train's Final Performance... documented!

Alright, nearly half of 2009 is over and we here at 37 flood have been a little shy, we're sincerely sorry for that but real life pops up from time to time and eats into your fun. This same thing happend to Louisville's beloved Follow the Train. The band experienced an exodous due to founding members moving on with their lives in fall 2006 but reformed again early in 2007 with only one remaining member Dennis Sheridan and a powerhouse of new "Train"ees! 

We were able to see Follow the Train most ever time they played here in town and even a couple dates in Athens, GA opening for MMJ and not one time did they leave me ungrateful for seeing them. On January 2009, FTT played their last show at Headliners Music Hall and our friend Mr. Brian Porter gratiously taped the show with his superior audience recording gear. He also introduced me to a recording of the band's first show together in early 2007 at Lisa's Oak Street Lounge. 

We've got some photos and the mp3s here for your viewing/listening enjoyment, thanks go out to Dennis, James, Mike, Carlos, Justin, Brandon and Dave for all the good shows and allowing their shows to be recorded by fans as well as Brian P. for taping it. Enjoy and I know that I hope to one day see the Train back on it's rails again!

Bro Stephen & Teneia Sanders at Lisa's Sat/7th

So, I don't have much news about this new band Bro. Stephen aside from the fact that it's formed from Scott Kirkpatrick (Chemic) and musicians from Nashville and Bloomington. What I do know is that I love what I've heard. They're celebrating a new hand made EP entitled "Front Room" that appears to be much more than EP length clocking in at 14 songs (correct me if I'm wrong, I could just be reading the demo stuff from myspace wrong.) It looks to only be available at their shows and I'm dying to get a copy to hear more than the two tracks on myspace... uhg, myspace. 

I can tell you that Scott and his band Chemic are great and the magic that is Teneia Sanders will be playing as well! Oh yea, they're playing down at the little bar under the Sterling beer sign, Lisa's on Oak Street Lounge this Saturday starting at 9pm.

Follow the Train's Final Performance 01/10

Hello all, I know we've been distant... we suck but thanks for hanging in there! We're very sad to report that Follow the Train will play it's last show this Saturday. The Train has given us one hell if a ride in it's current form of Dennis Sheridan on guitar/vocals, James Hewett on drums, Mike Sabo on guitar, Carlos Ramos on bass (Justin Davis from 1/07-7/07) , Brandon Jones on percussion, and Dave Cronin on keyboards.

Lucky Pineapple and Draft Riots will also play the show and if you haven't seen either of these guys, there are two more reasons to get out to the show.

As a special treat and with the awesome help of local taper and music aficionado Brian Porter, we bring you the first show from Follow the Train in it's most recent lineup at Lisa's Oak Street Lounge back in early 2007. (Sorry I haven't even had a chance to listen and insert songs names...)

Phantom Family Halo @ Lisa's - March 10th
